How To Add An Image To A Basic Page

Adding an image is a common requirement for most websites. It is quite simple and here are the basics:

A. Adding the Image and Inserting Into a Basic Page

1. Create your basic page.
2. Make sure the Text Format is set to 'Full HTML'.
3. Choose an image file to Upload by clicking the Choose File button (max size is 2Mb) .
4. Click the Upload button to upload your selected image.
5. Place the cursor in your page at the point where you want the image.
6. Click the Insert button.

The image should now be shown in the page.

B. Inserting An External Image

You can alternatively, insert an image hosted on another site (if that site lets you link to images). A good example is Wiki Commons where you will find all kinds of images that you can put in your pages without purchase. Another option might be to keep all your images on an image hosting site such as Picassa or Flickr or even Amazon S3  

1. Create your basic page.
2. Make sure the Text Format is set to 'Full HTML'.
3. Copy the URL of the image you want to insert.
4. Click the image button in the palette above the body area - 
5. Paste the URL of the image into the URL textbox - edit other options if you wish.

The image should now be shown in the page.
